====== Behind The Scenes: The Team ====== Our team is working hard to bring Mira together and deliver an Open Source groupware platform which will be feature-rich, extensible, easy-to-use and flexible enough to be useful in a myriad of situations and environments, both in the workplace and at home. ^ Username ^ Name ^ Role ^ Website ^ Timezone (non-DST) ^ | clsk | Alan Alvarez | Lead Developer (Network layer) | [[http://aliencoder.blogspot.com|Blog]] | UTC-5 | | J_K9 | Max Bossino | Project Manager | | UTC+1 | | neeraj | Neeraj Rajgure | Developer (Directory layer) | | UTC-5 | | shas | Shilpa Sodani | Developer | | UTC-7 | | tstone2077 | Thurston Stone | Developer (GUI) | | UTC-8 | ===== Inactive Members ===== ^ Username ^ Name ^ | beyonddc | David Chu | | daryl | Daryl Lee | | Jami | Shafi Ahmed | ===== Introductions ===== ==== PROJECT MANAGER: Max Bossino ==== I am primarily a web developer, originating from Gibraltar, GI. However, being a Linux enthusiast, I soon found myself involved in Open Source projects and when I discovered the vast increase in productivity offered by groupware platforms, and the poor state of existing Open Source groupware solutions, I took it upon myself to begin one. Mira Groupware is the second Open Source project which I have fully participated in and in both cases I have offered my skills as a manager and web designer to co-ordinate the development of the application and build their websites. I am fluent in English and Spanish, semi-fluent in French and am currently learning Italian. On the information technology side, my skills are mainly in the areas of networking and information security and I am fluent in the following programming languages: * XHTML * CSS * PHP (with database backends). I look forward to Mira's imminent success! ==== LEAD DEVELOPER: Alan Alvarez ==== I'm a hobbyist programmer. My main language is C++. I've been writing in C++ for about 5 years now mostly things related to networking and databases. Networking and Programming are the things I'm mostly interested in when it comes to computers. Other languages I've used are C and Assembly language (not a lot). I'm currently enlisted in the U.S. Army as an "Information Technology Specialist". Most of what I do here is system and network administration and very little programming in php, c# and c++/cli for trivial projects within my previous unit. On a personal note, I'm originally from the Dominican Republic, but have been living in the United States since the year 2000. ==== DEVELOPER: Thurston Stone ==== I've been programming professionally for about 8 years. I've programmed in C++, C#, but lately I've been working on python projects. At work, I use mostly Windows environments (with MKS for unix emulation) and I have both Windows workstations and Linux servers at home. I'm comfortable in both environments. I'm very excited about the potential of this project and will do what I can to help it reach that potential.
